The Future Is Ours
Nov. 5th, 2008 10:16 amSomething that hasn't been heavily reported but that really excites me are the demographics of the vote this year.
Nearly 20% of the total voters are under 30. That's massive. That's double what it was 12 years ago. More important, nearly 70% of the youth vote went to Obama.
Freaks, geeks, weirdos, Burners, Goths, Furries, Goons. The Internet beat the Republicans.
The world is changing. It's a shame that Hunter S. Thompson didn't stick around because I've got a feeling that the tide's coming back in and it's going to surge way past that old line in the desert.

He had more work to do and more minds to influence. In a world as bleak as ours when he took his life he made the wrong decision and I guess I cant stay mad at him. You old folks think in funny ways. He could have been a voice for the freaks who Obama is going to promptly ignore or turn on now that he's president elect. A great democratic president isn't what we really need, it's just what we need to catch our breath before finding someone more liberal.
