The Future Is Ours
Something that hasn't been heavily reported but that really excites me are the demographics of the vote this year.
Nearly 20% of the total voters are under 30. That's massive. That's double what it was 12 years ago. More important, nearly 70% of the youth vote went to Obama.
Freaks, geeks, weirdos, Burners, Goths, Furries, Goons. The Internet beat the Republicans.
The world is changing. It's a shame that Hunter S. Thompson didn't stick around because I've got a feeling that the tide's coming back in and it's going to surge way past that old line in the desert.

Oh I know who he is, but my 18 year old constituents might not! Have to represent their interests. That's the real tragedy of his suicide I think. He had more work to do and more minds to influence. In a world as bleak as ours when he took his life he made the wrong decision and I guess I cant stay mad at him. You old folks think in funny ways. He could have been a voice for the freaks who Obama is going to promptly ignore or turn on now that he's president elect. A great democratic president isn't what we really need, it's just what we need to catch our breath before finding someone more liberal.
