They're trying to be trendy and "extreme" with these drawings. I liked the style of Batman: TAS when it aired on WB networks, and I like the style of Justice League and Teen Titans now, but I really don't think it fits for humorous characters whose slapstick was straight out of vaudeville.
This re-invention of them probably isn't going to work well. I think it's taking the wrong tack.
Still.. it's certainly better than what they've been doing lately with the WB characters -- tired revisions of 'muppet babies' and 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit".
