Most of the convention was pretty good for me but there were some down parts too.
As a for-instance, I think I might have semi-retired my goggles. I wore them the first day with a sort of post-apocalyptic mad-max sort of look but the con was full of people who were just wearing goggles as though they were a costume of some kind. Some goggles similar to mine, some Willy Wonka goggles and several that were just big chunky ski goggles. But whatever. It's dead. I like mad science and I feel like I deserve the mad science look but who wants to be mundane?
On a related note, I saw several angsty boys in gas masks. Well... Painting masks that you can get from the hardware store but they clearly wanted you to believe they were gas masks and they were all full of angst and arrogance, as if they were better than everyone else there. Feh. No style at all. Come on assholes. Gas mask, baggy shorts and sandals? Nothing says protection like exposed flesh. :/
Anyhow, it did at least remind me of that cool costume last year. Peggy knows who I'm talking about, I think it's some friend of hers. Anyhow, that got me into doing some artwork
Image on Velar Not Safe for Work So.. Um.. Yay!
Or at least I like it and I find that kinda hot. If it weren't someone else's look, I think I might swipe it and make it into a character for myself on SecondLife. But then I'd just be one of the posers, wouldn't I?
Anyhow. Character is coloured in marker but I didn't feel like wasting marker on such and uninspired background so I did it in photoshop.
