As a consolation prize for getting a root canal in the morning, I bought a Diamond BVU195.
I see you shudder but it's surprisingly non-sucky.
So now I can connect a second external monitor to my mac... VIA a USB port... Ooooh yeah....
Naturally this means I plugged in the pair of 3D goggles I've had sitting about for a while I rarely used them because I had to unplug my 23" display to plug them in. Now I can use them without doing that. So maybe I'll finally get around to doing some development with them.
In the meanwhile, I did set them up on SecondLife with a 3DConnexion 6-axis mouse so I could wander around like a huge dork.
Tomorrow I may fiddle with using them with Illustrator or photoshop. They have a mouse cursor built into them that runs off the tilt. I can possibly patch it to make my image pan around so that whereever I'm looking is always the center of the screen. Though I'll probably have to damp it some to keep it from zipping around when I'm looking at menus.
But I'll see how I feel after I get a root fir thing in the morning. :P
