Moving moving
Feb. 11th, 2010 12:56 pm*sigh*
Due to a bunch of crap, it looks like we're moving our moving date to next weekend. One more week at El Barrio Arms.
In other news, we can't have a garage sale because the last few people that had garage sales left stuff behind so now the management expressly forbids it. I guess they'd prefer a mountain of stuff in the dumpster.
Also, tomorrow they want to pull some bullshit about a 'pre moveout walkthrough' so they can tell us what 'damages' need to be fixed before we've really moved out.
What they really mean is that they want to nit pick at every little thing they possibly can so they can keep the largest portion of the deposit possible. I've never heard of any apartment place doing this before. After you've moved out, sure, but while there's still stuff in the way? Seems kind of counter intuitive and invasive and generally assholeish.
But such is what I've come to expect from this miserable Hell Hole.
I'm just glad our plan worked. Stacey and I made a plan of living in this craphole for 5 years so that we could save and buy our own house. Here we are 5 years later and it's done but it's been taxing. I'm ready to be out of this stain. Adding yet another week to our already month delay is really making me stabby. Also that I now will have to pitch or goodwill a bunch of belongings instead of getting some meager cash for them doesn't make me happy either.
On that note: Anyone need a really nice solid oak TV stand, some very solid oak finish bookshelves, a 16mm movie projector, a vintage bedroom set with matching queen-sized bed frame, dresser with huge mirror and night-stand? It's all solid wood and in good shape though there are a few water rings on the tops of some of the pieces and they need to be refinished. We should also liquidate Stacey's bedroom set but I don't know how she wants to go about that so I'm not going to do it out of hand.
If I'm going to give stuff to goodwill, I might as well give it to people I like instead.
