I hate LJ sometimes.
Dec. 21st, 2009 04:20 pmNot too long ago, I discovered a rather annoying 'feature' of LJ. Apparently people can set up an alert to tell them when someone has unfriended them. Thanks LJ, thanks for the pointless drama feature.
Why do I friend or unfriend someone? That's my business. If I do it without telling them, it probably isn't because I hate their guts and never want to see them again. May simply be that I just don't feel like reading their posts and I don't find the friends filters to scale well enough for my purposes.
Most people have a hundred or more people in their friend list so generally they won't even notice if a distant acquaintance disconnects but no. Not good enough for old LJ. There must be teh dr4m4.
Fine. If I drop someone, it means I hate their guts, want to stick their head in boiling guacamole while shoveling their intestines out with a shrimp fork and I never want to speak to them ever again. Whatever.
Or maybe it means I just don't feel like reading their posts and I don't care for the implementation of custom friend groups.
Or maybe it means it's great fun to throw some petty emotional violence on another being and it's just my way of saying Merry Christmas because, you know, I'm so much better than everyone else that it's fine for me to treat people like playthings.
Whichever, but I really don't appreciate the LJ Drama option. It's rather annoying and provokes drama which only aggravates the situation. *sigh*
