School Stuff

... Okay, I'm sorta off kilter. Took Free as a Bird to school tonight for Marty to look at (instructor) to make a long story short, he liked it, felt I could do a few things to make it good to submit for Film Finals and... wanted me to do a huge amount more work to it. I'm kind of frustrated by that. The ideas suggested by Marty and peers are certainly not bad ones but... They're a little late. That would have been much more useful at the storyboarding stage or even at the pencils stage. At this point they're a little difficult to implement. I think I know which ones are best to try to get in before Friday but it's going to be a lot of work... Which brings me to issue #2 for school...

There's a classic accoustic guitar class being offered. First class it tomorrow and it's a whole hour and a half long... I think I might gain a lot from studying under someone, on the other hand, I'm a fast learner on my own and I just got some new books. I guess the thing that is clouding the issue is Free as a Bird I have only a little time to work this week. Its an hour and a half class but it's probably a 3hr disruption in my schedule. I think it sounds like I want to take the class but I should also note that I'm taking Japanese, Independent Animation Project, and Remote class Adobe Illustrator. That's lots of study time already and a music class would be a lot more study time. On the other other other other other hand, music relaxes me a lot and I love to play. *sigh* sometimes I wish I'd married Bruce and become a housewife and had all the time in the world to go to school and study. :/ Anyhow, I guess I'll put it up for a vote and see how I'm feeling tomorrow.

Formal lessons can be good, sometimes you pick up on something you would miss on your own.

Guh, I appreciate the offer but I'd feel awfully weird having a better artist than I doing my inbetweens. O_O Also, I worked on my task list a bit last night and I think I can get by without doing a lot of additional animation. I think I'm looking at about on the order of maybe 20 or 30 frames. I can knock that out this evening after class.
