Note to self. There is no such sport as stair-luging. Please quit doing it. Especially without a sled. You are very lucky to have only suffered a seriously bruised tailbone this time instead of a broken toe like last time.

Now to find more pillows. ;-;

Highly trafficked carpeted stairs can sometimes be deceptively slick. I remember the last time I misjudged how much foot to leave on the edge of one and ended up bouncing my ass down the rest. Ow. But even worse for you, because you're a fragile old woman!

I really don't understand how these stairs she slipped on were even code they're smaller than my feet. It's like a ladder you can't really hook your feet on, but is carpeted poorly.

Bah. Get off my lawn, you damned kid!

Breaking my toe was an incredibly freak accident. Only the second bone I've ever broken in my life. I've deliberately been doing more rough and tumble stuff since then. Jumping, falling off skateboards, etc. Supposedly, the rougher you live when you're younger, the denser your bones become and the fewer bones you break when you're actually old.

I guess that's why I've never broken a bone in my life (err, except for the time I got that boxer fracture punching something hard enough that Newton himself muttered "dumbass" in his grave), but my joints are going to hell on me.

It's a trade-off.

Sorry to hear about the accident, but glad to hear you got through with just a bruised butt instead of anything broken. From Stacey's comment, those stairs sound like a death-trap! :/
