Wish me luck!
May. 5th, 2009 03:27 pmYesterday I finally got around to going to the fabric store to get stuff for a project I wanted to do. I found some cloth on the discontinued pile that I really liked, but there wasn't enough for the project I wanted to use it for. However, decided I liked it and there was another project I could use it for and the price was good, so I went ahead and got it.
Looked at the pattern this morning and I need either 2.5 yards at 60" or 3.0 yards at 45"... The end that I got was something like 2.75 yards at 54"... Hoo boy. I'm going to lay it out when I get home. With a whole lot of luck, it'll work, but given that it's cloth I can't change the orientation on and that I'm going to have to lengthen a few parts, I'm a little worried. It's going to be very very close.
Worst case, I'll switch to another design, but I'm really hoping I can pull it off with this pattern.
In other news, one of the local Wolf camera shops is closing down, so Stacey and I visited there yesterday and we got a decent inexpensive point-and-click camera, so sometime soon, I'll be able to show off some of my clothing projects and photo some of
prickvixen's stuff as well.
I haven't really posted about me a lot lately, have I? Got under a heavy load at work and I've been spending most of my free time practicing guitar. Not yet good enough to really say, "Here. Listen to this!" but I am improving. As a consequence of guitar practice though, I haven't done much in the way of finished or publishable art lately. Haven't been hanging out online much either. Sorry about pulling a vanishing act.
Saturday I went to a jewelry sale and then the flea market with some fop. Afterwards, we picked up
paka and went for a hike in the redwoods followed by bumming around Santa Cruz.
Spent the rest of the weekend working on projects and running errands with

I really need to master the guitar so I can get back to leading a rockstar lifestyle.
