I really enjoyed this movie but I should mention that it's not an action film. It has the slow pacing of a chinese drama but the cinematography, acting, and effects are quite good, and it was really interesting to see Ghengis Khan presented as a sympathetic and intelligent character rather than a ruthless savage.
It's really hard for me to think of a good film to compare this with. It's somewhere between Ran and a soviet propaganda film I watched in one of my film history classes. It's the sort of film that I thinkpaka would really enjoy, and it was definitely one of the better films I've seen this year.
