Date: 2008-06-07 03:04 am (UTC)The first story, I don't know who even wrote it, but it had this nifty twist that this utopian future society decided to find a perfect example of the pre-society world, and the surprise ending was they got Jack the Ripper.
The second story was something Ellison authored. He apparently was so inspired by the first story that he had to write the sequel. It was basically an incredibly uninspired gore-fest. And I went, wait, this is the guy? This is the self proclaimed genius of the age and that's the best he can come up with faced with this kinda novel plot idea?
