Part 1
Hee. The last couple of days have been wonderfully social for me. The planned activities of Wednesday night had to get shuffled around after I met Julia for lunch that day and she asked me if I'd like to come with her and some of her friends from out of town to this place: http://www.jumpskyhigh.com/index.asp

Basketball-court sized room full of trampolines... How could I resist? It was great fun but also pretty brutal and a lot of exercise. I'm still sore two days later. I also managed to sprain my thumb by punching myself in the face when I landed wrong on a failed attempt at a mid-air somersault. Still. Well worth doing IMO. I'll definitely be going back as soon as I heal up. :D *bouncebouncebounce* I want to get to be like the urban ninja guys who were doing backflips up the length, hitting the wall ten feet up, doing a twist in mid-air and flipping back down the length again. Simply amazing. :)

I managed to turn one full forward-flip in the air and land on my feet (but in a crouched position without enough energy in it to stand or do anything else) but still. A mid-air flip! Woot!

After the trampolines, Jon and I went back to my house and ate up all the beans and rice that I'd started cooking before we went. :)

Part 2
Operation Archie Obliteration was a roaring success. Jon, Ashy, me, a ton of curry, custard, a mountain of art supplies, a bad heavy metal radio station, and a stack of crappy Archie comics...

Oh dear god, we have sinned and sinned and sinned and then sinned some more. I won't say too much about this yet other than it was tremendously fun and if you're an artist and are feeling blocked, DO THIS! When it was all said and done, we'd produced over 80 pages of stuff that we liked enough to scan. (Watch [livejournal.com profile] prickvixen for images)

I swear this was Jon's idea and he swears it was mine. Whatever the case, it was brilliant. The used bookstore was sensible enough to not carry Archie comics, so I went to the comic book store and said, "Point me at your cheapest and most boring Archie comics." and the guy pulled a box out of the closet and said, "Here.", when I explained my mission. I got 7 condensed digests of undigestible Archie, Jugghead, and the gang for $2. My entertainment dollar was well-spent and I suspect no one has ever enjoyed Archie comics half as much as we did last night. Even if we go straight to Hell, it was worth it. :)
