I'm going to split my blogs up, if for no other reason that because I post too much and it's hard to find stuff in this one since it's such a heap.

But also, I want to make a more public-friendly version of myself that's focused on art an animation and contains a minimum of foamy ranting.

This will still be my primary location but I'll also be putting my better art on a different blog (So if you're sick to death of hearing me gripe about politics, you might prefer that) Looks like I'm going to use wordpress for that and it's an RSS feed type thing and it has the benefit that I can more or less totally replace my website with a blog and not have the hassle of maintaining a page. (Just trying this as an experiment. Probably won't stick to it)

I believe I _am_ going to start podcasting. Probably weekly with short-fiction. Either my own, or those of friends who want to get run. First however, I need to figure out the feasibility of creating a good audio program on a regular basis and what tools I need. Probably looking at 2 or 3 weeks before I seriously start.

I'm also going to be publishing a lot more short fiction. I've got a heap of old stories and back-piled ideas that just need some cleanup to be turned into fiction and I can probably run them directly as podcasts. Although maybe it'd be better to first try to market them. I'll have to figure that out too.

Lots of stuff going on for me right now but it's well past time I quit hiding behind the label of 'student' and started presenting myself as a professional. I've run from fame for too long.

Actually, Wordpres is one of the best names out there for what you're pondering. I know a few folks who are very savvy with it if you ever run across glitches and such.

Can't wait to see some of your stories and written work, I enjoy your illustrative talents and can only imagine what lies in store with regards to your writing!

I think a lot of podcasters just do it with built-in mics and Garageband, to be honest. I'm sure googling around will find you people burbling on about their tools and processes...

Oh. I'm quite aware of that, having listened to a number of them. Many don't know how to do more than one take or edit down their content to get rid of all the 'umm.....' moments and stuff like that. I'm quite good at sound editing really. That's part of why I think I can succeed at this reasonably well. I already have good tools and I know how to use them and feel capable of making something listenable. :)

Just make sure that notification of new art and other such projects ends up here too so I can go see them on the other blog!

Good for you! I plan to stick around here, as I rather like foamy ranting :)

I don't mind hearing you gripe about politics, because I tend to agree with you.

Are you planning on being the voice talent for these podcasts?

Well.... I'm always available and very affordable...

I'd rather not be the major voice talent for it but I probably will be. I've done a lot of voice acting in my animation and short films.

(See also: Faux News, Aussie Fried Ostrich, BAD BAD BAD, The Untimely Adventures of Pizza Dude, and SpaceArk in circle.twu.net/animate (Or the weather report in animate/ambush) Or if you're particularly masochistic, the Pawpets commercial or SamAntha in circle.twu.net/video.

All the voice acting in all of those is me. I have bit parts in lots of my other films and shorts too. Maybe I can rope Ashy into helping me. :)

I wanted to know so I could recommend [livejournal.com profile] silverbrand to you. He's a friend of mine who used to do his own podcast blog sort of thing for a while, and hosted some college radio station in his college days, he's got an ultra deep gravely masculine voice which you can hear some of at this decrepit website of his http://www.storyhour.org/ If you get a story that calls for such a voice, he comes with my high recommendation! I'm fairly certain he'd love to be approached about something like this as well.
