Apparently someone bought up Reboot and is making a trilogy of films out of it... Well... Except they're getting fans to re-vision the whole thing.

'someone' seems to be whatever Mainframe turned into/got eaten by. How much connection the current holders of the license have with the folks who originally created it is anyone's guess. People move on.
