Everyone is going to be writing these things so I'm putting it behind a cut in case you're bored of them.

Short form: I had a relaxing and adequate time.

Thursday
Got off to a bit of a late start Thursday, but that was okay. I was determined to stay in relaxed mode and not stress about anything. It mostly worked, though I got a little stressed at Stacey towards the end of the packing. In general though, everything went well and we got to the hotel with no real trouble, got checked in, and got our stuff up the room. Then I went back and picked up [livejournal.com profile] prickvixen and a couple more things from my house. We'd planned to go back to the hotel and drop off her stuff but due to the offramp from the airport loop to the hotel being closed, we ended up picking up [livejournal.com profile] shatterstripes and [livejournal.com profile] queenofstripes from the airport first.

Originally, the plan had been for Peggy to stay with Ashy during the convention but the reality of shuttling people back and forth began to seem like a hassle and at some earlier point I'd told Ashy it would be okay to crash in my room if we wanted to drink or something. The problem, of course was it left where Peggy was staying a bit up in the air. I like privacy and having a couple extra people in my room was starting to feel like a stress point for me. Thankfully, Julia had some extra space and we were able to shuffle stuff around so Peggy could stay with her.

Jon came up and we hung out and drank and laughed for a while. Also wandered around a bit and saw a few people. Several people didn't recognize me. Heh. Chip didn't know who I was until like Saturday evening. :D

Friday
Slept in late on Friday. Hung out, visited more people, wandered through the art show and dealer's room with Stacey. Later I dressed up and went to the League of Evil Genius' party. It wasn't as good as last year. It opened late and there were some not very evil and certainly not genius types that showed up early to mooch booze. On the other hand, I had fun playing an opium dealer and seductively disturbingly eating a gummy eyeball candy thing. Then strolled around with a colleague for a while. Much to my amusement, the severity of her presence was alarming to many of the people at the convention.

Later on, I changed into a black vinyl mini dress and the boots and went drinking and dancing and had quite a good time. One minor point of awkwardness. I ran into the guy we'd bought dinner for at Denny's a few days before. Heh. It was cool though. He'd seen us and was indeed playing music he thought we'd groove to. So that was cool. :)

At some point, Cube dragged Ashy and I up to a martini party to exterminate my liver. Mission succeeded. There was a pretty weird moment there with some freaky woman hitting on me and trying to introduce me to her dog and offering me pot and stuff, not to mention jabbering on about how she disliked trans* people. Ick. Unfortunately, at first I hadn't heard her over the music and I was too drunk to really smack her down so I just politely refused it all. Good times! Blah.

Left the martini party apparently just in time to miss some drunks knocking drinks off the balcony onto the hired security thugs a few floors below. Probably a good thing.

After martinis, went back and danced some more. Holy smokes Rocky! I can high-energy dance in 6" platforms and do 360 spins in time to music while completely drunk and not fall down or sprain anything. THANK YOU DANCE DANCE REVOLUTION!!!!!! :D

Saturday
Got up late again. Picked up lights and other things for [livejournal.com profile] foxgrrl's room party. Dyed her hair rainbow colors and decorated her room with glowy stars and black lights before finding out she was going to have the party in a different room. Ooops. Heh.

Went to sushi with friends, and picked up the cube hat to pass it on to Cube. When we went back to the hotel, I walked around looking for him and decided to wear the silly thing. Wow... The results it got from people were just amazing. Of all the costumes I wore this weekend, that silly six dollar build was the biggest head-turner.

Couldn't find Cube so I went and changed into my tentacle skirt and spent far far too long doing my makeup. Went to get photos with Tug but the camera was down when we got there. OTOH, Cube was there, so I went and got the cube hat and passed it on to him with the warning about how much it interested people. Apparently, he had a good time with it but I didn't get to see. :)

By the time I got back, the camera was fixed so I got a few photos then went and danced for a bit and had quite a fun time, though the white boots made my feet start to ache pretty bad after a while. I had a glow in the dark ribbon baton with me and I danced with that. I got a few compliments on the costume but not quite as much as I might have hoped. I think it was a little too close to evil clown territory for some people. Anyhow, I had fun. When my feet couldn't take it any more, I changed back to 'normal' clothes and wandered around for a bit.

Sunday
Didn't sleep in as late. Hung out and wandered around for a bit. Then decided I hadn't been spending enough time in my evening costumes so I went and changed into plaid miniskirt, corset, and the black boots. A good choice, I think. Turned more heads at the very least. ;) I hung out and drew for a bit, then went to dinner with friends. Took the outfit off after dinner because I was cold and the corset was getting a bit uncomfortable after 6 hours.

Changed into comfy clothes and went to Julia's room party and hung out with her and drew until about 1AM when the hotel staff rather gruffly ordered her to shut down the party. Not even keep it quiet, but completely off. Maybe for the best. It was very very cold in the room because the DJ had decided to run his cables such that the doors of the room were wide open and it was freezing cold. It was kind of a shame though because we had to shut down before the party really even got started. There were several compliments on the decorations. Hee. :)

Julia and I wandered up to the main stage dance but I ended up hanging out with Peggy and Stacey and drawing. That dance was closed at 2, and it was also cold there.

Eventually, Stacey, Julia and I ended up in the anime room. That didn't last too long though as there was a really bad 'serious' anime playing and it was being projected directly onto the wall and there was a thermostat right in the middle of the picture, so it became the focus of every scene and was hysterically funny after about five minutes. Note: Being told to stop laughing only makes people laugh more.

Julia and I then went up to my room and hung out with Ashy for a while and chatted. Very nice and relaxing.

Monday
Not much to tell. Got up at a nearly reasonable hour. Packed up stuff. Took stuff home, came back, and slacked around. Eventually went out to dinner with friends, then home.

All in all a very relaxing weekend. I didn't work, I didn't do staff, I didn't even operate my table. I also wisely took tomorrow off as well so I've got a quiet day at home before going back to work. May post some art later. I didn't do anything spectacular but I did a few things that came out interesting enough to me.

She ended up puking over the balcony at 4am. Right onto the security table.

No, no it wasn't. Because there was way too much awesome going on. ;.;
