I've been thinking about this. How long do you think it'll take us to go from 'Unhappy people make other people unhappy' to 'Unhappy people make other people unproductive' to 'We're letting you go because you're not happy enough'? A month, maybe? What a wonderful excuse to alienate and dispose of dissenters. Welcome back to high school!

This person's argument in favor of the superior critical thinking faculties of happy people is also based upon a fallacy. Any given individual might perform better when they're happy rather than unhappy, but it doesn't logically follow that happy people are mentally superior; it only suggests they are at the peak of their own capability. Nevertheless, what is suggested by the article is that happy people are smarter than unhappy people.
