Interest Increases
Mar. 30th, 2006 10:03 amSure, as soon as I post about how dull the train is, it gets more interesting. If I'd known that, I would have done it a month ago. :)

Unflattering self-portrait
So. Earlier this week, there were a couple of guys who got on the train after me and sat down in the seats in front of me. One of them was new to his job and they were talking about their work. Something about procedural animation versus hand-tweaking it, timing a cut where someone jumped from one place to another and how many shots they'd got through and their demo reels and stuff.
Okay, maybe this wasn't any more exciting than what anyone else on the train was doing but at least it interested me. Ended up talking with them a bit, of course because I'm that sort of annoying person.
They're part of the post-production crew at EvilEye (very small new shop in the city apparently) They knew and had worked with Webster Colcord, a bit, which was cool.
At this point, I guess I realized I more or less am in the animation industry now. I'm just working on the software end instead of the artwork end. Ohwell. Still having fun at work but I need to start managing my private life time a bit better. I have a bad habit of staying 10hrs at work and spending another 2 on the train, then coming home and not working on my own projects as much. (Though I'm getting work done on the train, I suppose, and sketching time is pretty valuable)
