That's what I've become
An eccentric orbit
taking me far from the sun.

... My sleep schedule is REALLY messed up. something about working several 20-30hr days in a row (with a little sleep in between) I'm lost, drifting around the dial. Staying awake for 20 and 30 hours, sleeping 10 and 14. Getting up at 2AM or 5PM. I can't seem to get a handle on it. I'm living in a world of eternal darkness where the sun never rises or never sets. Every day I tell myself, "Today is the day I get myself back on a normal schedule" and each one, something happens that makes that not happen. I'm a ship in the fog with a broken compass, a plane in cloud with no instruments. I don't know up from down. Mayday mayday.

Damn, what are they requiring from you at work for those insanely long hours? Pulling an all-nighter once in a while is one thing, but going 20-30 hours again and again is inhuman, even in the name of science. Not sure what to say, other than "please stop", since the last thing anyone wants is you collapsing in the middle of your marathon work sessions and having to go to the hospital.

Ouch, I do that to myself, not from work but from my own personal habits, and I know how hard it is to get back on track. And it also must be frustrating to not have clear *lines* of where one day ends and the other begins. It's like we have our own separate calendar from the rest of the normal-sleeping world. Good luck getting your circadian rhythms re-aligned, and I second what voidheart suggested - if it's killing you, let your employment know before you get hurt.
