The County Fair

Tuesday night, I went to the Santa Cruz county fair. It made me a little homesick driving through the area I'd lived for ten years (I moved this summer) but the fair was fun. We looked at all the exhibits and ate lots of junk food and bought a cute glass hummingbird to put in the kitchen window (Which looks out to a humming bird feeder where there are real hummers. :) )

I took my new DV camera with us to the fair and took some video but mostly just used it to snap photographs to the memory stick. It was really a lot of fun! I took quite a few photos and then did a lot of work on them in photoshop and illustrator. This is the result Also, if you click on the midway, you can get to the second photo project I did that night. My new camera has a 'nightshot' feature which makes it project a whole bunch of UV light so that you can photograph in the dark! So I went to the exhibit of the old farm equipment and took several pictures of the old machinery. I think the end result was really neat and I want to go back with my 35MM camera and some IR film and take real photos of the same scenes. *sigh* I don't know that I'll have the time to be able to do it though. I may have to wait until next year.
