I'm going to eat mushrooms I found growing in my yard that I identified on the internet. I have no prior experience identifying mushrooms. ^_^

Well. I was neglecting to mention that what is in my yard is one of the absolute safest kinds of mushrooms to identify. It only has one or two 'look-alikes' and they don't look anything like it. They're also slimey and have a strong odor. Also, the similiar species will only make you sick to your stomach, not kill ya. :)

It matches every single marking and I checked like a dozen websites plus I've read about them extensively for several years. Morels and Chantrelles are the two types of wild mushrooms I've always thought I might eat if I found them growing wild. Of the two, morels are a little safer.

All of that aside, I still feel like I'm nuts but um. Too late to do anything about it now. :)

It wasn't bad. Very mild flavor but a good texture.

Well... I figure if shrub gets us in a nuclear war that the bodies of the recently dead are only going to stay fresh a few days (Unless nuclear winter changes the temperature drastically) But even if that happens, americans are way too high in fat. There's only so many you could eat before you'd start feeling loagy so... Ya'know. Balance. :) One portion radiation-burned suburbanite to one of strrange giant mushroom rooted in the corpses of the dead.

Oog. American suburbanites are probably even worse for you than Big Macs -- sickly, overfed yet undernourished animals at the top of an industrial food chain. Plus, both the corpses and the fungi that grow on them will carry a hefty bioaccumulation of toxins. I suggest laying in canned goods and dried beans by the ton. :)
