WAH! :(

I was gonna say 'OOOOH! I want some of these!' when I read the text, 'Mighty Mouse Panties'

But...

http://www.webundies.com/wimm06jb.htm

They have a stupid hiphop catch phrase on them. Why couldn't they just be Mighty? Why do we have to ruin stuff with stupid obnoxious text?

Just wait for the CG Mighty Mouse movie directed by John Woo in 2005/06.

It's hipper that way, you see.

There's one guy you'll find in rock poster/lowbrow/hipster circles whose main artistic schtick is tracing stuff out of the Preston Blair books and slightly altering them. They're not very good tracings, either. Frank Kozik is his name, if I recall correctly.

Recontextualizing the icons of childhood. Preferably in an ironic fashion. It's HipTM.

Er...Kozik's been doing that for years and is probably single-handedly responsible for the rock poster art revival. I'm actually a big fan of his, and once semi-seriously suggested he be considered for a furry con GOH. I wouldn't so easily dismiss his stuff as mere tracery.

*shrug* What I've seen by him, after seeing his name tossed around in contexts like idly-browsed copies of Juxtapoz, didn't impress me much. And what I remember seeing is stuff like a cute little chubby pig lifted from the Preston Blair books, with a knife added behind it, and signed "Kozik".

But I'm not up on the rock poster scene; maybe I just saw his worst work.
