I still haven't found the 2000ADs but I did find Weird Science Fantasy

Not sure if this will titilate or squick you but I somehow think it will serve to entice either way!

I feel like a total geek; my immediate reaction is not "oooh! Mutants and tentacles!" but "Oooh! Wally Wood!". My head's full of artists. *sigh*

Yep. 'Wood' is the name on every story. It just stuns me that you can do that from a single page. Aside from the one stupid cock-worship story, the rest are pretty good tho. :)

Oop. Scratch that. Only signature I noticed offhand was Wood. Here's a list of signatures:

WOOD
Al Williamson
B Krigstein
ORlando

I think Williamson is the one doing it most for me. He's like totally crazy on the textures. Lines, hatching, ziptone, the bidirectional board stuff, wax pencil rubbing. Everything is super heavy with just crazy texture!

Have I mentioned by the way how much I am appreciating being given new ways to look at these things? New language and tools? I always liked just the raw sci-i stories of them and the art was registering on some lower-brain level but I'm taking in a lot more information now and looking at it with different eyes. it's an exciting experience.

Nothing like the wonders of EC's 50's titles. "Weirs Science," "Tales From The Crypt," "Frontline Combat", etc.

Fucking Comics Code Authority...
