On Friday I bought a collection of DVDs. $12, 12DVDs, 100 cartoons. I watched them all. Popeyes, Boops, Tom and Jerry (the other Tom and Jerry, not the cat and moust duo) and scores of other weird, peculiar, and otherwise bad shorts. I'm not sure why I did this to myself, other than because the previous weekend I'd watched both volumes of the Looney Tunes golden collection. It's an interesting contrast and, to be honest, I got more amusement for my dollar out of this collection than I did from the Looney Tunes collection. Some of it, wasn't bad, and some of it, I reveled in it's badness. On the other hand, the Looney Tunes are so nicely cleaned up and the color is so rich and saturate and textures so rich I just want to lick the screen, plus the animation is smooth and quick and well timed.
While I was doing this, I also worked on my 10-second club entry for this month. Peggy has graciously been giving me useful pointers and, I think it's coming along decently, but I'm making enough people suffer with it right now so I'll wait until it's done to post any animation here.

There's more than one such-named duo?
I'm partial to Tex Avery, myself.
I have the laserdisc box-set ("The Complete Tex Avery").
Eleven CLV sides of wild-take and absurd goodness!
(That's about 55 minutes per side)
(Corny, isn't it?)

The cat and mouse are better.

I do have to say that twelve bucks for a hundred cartoons is pretty good. There's at least twelve bucks of fun in that compilation she got, though most of the transfers are kinda poopy.

That is probably the strangest cartoon ever made. 8)
If I could, I'd do that kind of stuff..
