Hiking

Need to get outside. Should go hiking. Somewhere sunny and warm. Probably inland. I'd like to go to my secret beach but it's the wrong phase of the moon, only wishy-washy tides during the day. It'd be passable (assuming no storms at sea), but it wouldn't be the best shell-hunting. Redwoods might be fun but would probably be cold, damp, and dark this time of year. On the other hand, this is the best time to see newts, salamanders, bananaslugs, ferns, and fungii. Eastern hills sound good too. Somewhere with lots of rocky outcrops and some really long trails. Places without a lot of people. I'd like a long hike.

Pack lunches Saturday night, set out Sunday morning, hike all day. Who all would be interested in coming and... what terrain?

Dreaming

The last several nights in a row, I've dreamed. Odd, silly things mostly:

The dreams interest me but what excites me even more is that I am dreaming. While I never feel sparse for ideas, I rarely dream. Maybe two or three times a year that I can remember. Three nights in a row is completely unheard of. Frustratingly, there have been several changes lately that could be responsible for it, or it could be some combination of factors at play.

I wish I could figure out what triggers it. Sleep is such a waste of time that it'd be nice if it were at least entertaining.
