You know, listening to the old sci-fi radio dramas, I realized something. Ray Bradbury is a flaming hypocrite. :/
In recent news he's been throwing a fit that Michael Moore named his film 'Fahrenheit 911'... Now the thing is, a short story by Ray Bradbury is playing right this moment titled, 'The Velt'.
It's a story against too much automation in people's lives... It's a
story with a little boy named Peter and a little girl named Wendy whose parents bought a house with nursery; what would later be called a 'Holodeck' in Star Trek. In other words, Peter and Wendy fly off to Never Never Land and forget their parents and become little savages....
I'd always respected Bradbury and I admit to some ambivalence about Moore. I'm well aware he isn't the most honest person in the world. On the other hand, the name thing seemed very petty when I first heard about it and now it seems outright hypocritical. :/

Fuck it sideways with a chainsaw.
This is the fourth reply I've lost today.
Okay, short version:
The Peter and Wendy thing is fine, it's a nod to classic literature.
And besides, The Velt is only one small story among many from that great classic:
The Martian Chronicles.
Which was written in, what? 1936 or something?
I just don't see that as being on the same level as Moore calling his movie "Farenheit 911".
I mean, I like Moore because he makes corporations squirm.
I do realize he's not exactly lily-white himself...
Where the hell was I going with?
Oh yeah, don't get yer panties in a twist, honeybunch.
Ray Bradbury still rules!! :-)
