Who Am I?
This year is starting off pretty weird identity-wise.
Transitioning from renter to home owner. Moving to a new house in another town in a completely different eco system. We're shifting from what is barely better than survival living in a warren-like noisy apartment to organized and comfortable living space in almost perfect silence. Also, letting go of a lot of objects that I've had a long time/are part of my identity.
Alienated a chunk of my friends group in the fall and severed ties a bit later (I really should have planned ahead and done this after getting help moving. ;)
Changed groups at work. Took a weird step into socializing more with co-workers. Will probably be more social as I start car-pooling with them after we move.
Computer harddrive died and a lost a lot of little pieces of 'me' despite backups of most of the important parts. Also resulted in changing some apps and tools.
Accidentally destroyed my phone resulting in a small loss of data and a big change in phone configuration/use.
Generally I'm a fan of change but I think all the delays and issues with moving are sort of stressing me right now and that combined with everything else feels a little disorienting and it's also all time-slicing in such a way that stuff I'd normally have kicked in a day or two is dragging on for weeks, prolonging the experience and making it more burdensome. I can't wait for this move to be done. It's being incredibly stressful to me.
