Moving time is approaching and our new house is small. I've been thinking abut it and there are a few heavy objects I should let go of. Posting them here for friends first, then to freecycle and craigslist. I'd rather you guys have them because they have been very loved. If you want them or know someone else who might be interested in them, let me know.

Comments screened and/or send me private messages.

Giving things up on a first-come/first-serve basis. Will post these to the general public late this evening so speak quick if you desire them.

5'x4' metal drafting desk. It's been disassembled sitting behind my animation table for over a year now. It's a great surface if you're doing a big piece of artwork, but I won't have room to set it up and I've gotten by without it for over a year. I love it but it's time to let it go.

1800's White Treadle sewing machine with quilting arms, needles, etc. Plus I'll teach you how to thread her and sew with her. I've done a lot of sewing with this machine in the 16 years I've had her and as recently as two weeks ago. I'll miss her a lot. She's been part of my identity for a very long time. But I have two electric machines now and they are much smaller. All I ask for her is that she not be gutted and made into a coffee table for yuppies. It's so painful for me to see that done to old sewing machines. :(

Ralph.. :(
He's a 1980 Honda CB-900 Custom. adjustable air suspension, shaft-drive bike with a rocker to select between highway and street gearing sets for a total of 10 gears. Also has a ton of chrome. After that photo was taken, I put on nicer grips and managed to find the Honda CB900 Custom emblems for the side covers and get them mounted. (They look like this: http://www.corbin.com/honda/cb900custom2.jpg)

His engine and transmission are solid but I dropped him several years ago and put a nasty dent in the tank on the left side. Tires and front brake need to be replaced. Carburetors need to be rebuilt. Battery is probably flat. And there's an annoying tiny oil leak on the gasket for the clutch pedal. Doesn't cause serious oil loss but it gets your boot dirty. Hasn't been started in ~4 years.

Part of me would love to rebuild him but honestly... I lack the expertise and the shop space. There's no way I can haul him up to the basement of our new house so he'd be parked outdoors covered with only a tarp in a frequently rainy environment. He's also a bit too big for me. I'm just not really large enough to ride this bike. I'll probably ask ~$600 OBO for him on Craigslist but would let him go for less to a good home where I know he won't be stripped for parts.

Fishing tackle. One surf rod (tip broken) one bass-fishing rod (tip broken) box of hooks, lures, and plastic worms. Crab net. Throw net. I've been hanging onto this stuff for the better part of forever, the last vestiges of an identity I shed eons ago.

Misc books: Mostly art, sci-fi, and tech themed. I'll start making a box. Most of them I'll probably be willing to give to friends but you'll have to just stop by and pick out what you want. Whatever isn't taken will, I guess go first to the used bookstore for credit and then Craigslist. There will be some videos and CDs that also fit this description.

Likely there will be a lot of other stuff too but I need to get to work and this was the stuff I could think of offhand.
