The Far Away
Stacey and I made it up to Portland okay and had Thanksgiving with her family yesterday. I'm working some today but decided to log in and spend some time in SecondLife while I was working. A habit I should perhaps do more.

I decided to find someplace that wasn't too busy but would interest me. Did a few searches for surrealist type places and found this place... The Far Away Perfect really. Sort of strange and quiet, few people.

The first being I met here was quite pleasant. I acted in character as a lot wanderer and she responded as a strange sort of person who visited here. After we played for a bit, she said her farewells and I wandered around a bit more. Then, since I really needed to focus on work, I decided to put on my rag doll avatar and just lie broken on the ground, making myself part of the scenery.

It's rather fun. I'm hidden by the tall grass and so until people wander too near, I stay silent, but once they're near, I shout out something like 'Begone crows! Let me be!' or 'I hear something in the grass. A mouse perhaps, come to steal my stuffing for its nest?' or 'If only the wind hadn't blown me down and broke my sticks.' Playing, of course, the part of the fallen scarecrow.

I should get back to work now. I'd like to get done so I can spend some time enjoying Portland, but I had to share the finding of a good game.

I miss you. I hope things are going basically okay up there.

It is crazy that you work there. Very strange. I don't suppose I'll ever have a job involving surrealist landscapes and performance art.
