I feel sick everytime I think about it. The mother did the right thing. I think she needs to thumb her nose at the Church and take up the local religion that predates Catholic conquest.

Sadly, I am not surprised. As if the trauma of rape, unwanted pregnancy, and abortion aren't enough.

As fucked up as it is, being excommunicated may be the only good thing to come out of this. The church has proven once again how cold, useless, and hindersome it can be; I wish this young girl and her mother blessings and luck in finding a real source of therapy, support, and solace.
