Names

I've been contemplating a new name for my online identity. Not sure dv_girl really suits me so well any more.

DV was from 'Digital Video' but it's somewhat ambiguous. It could also be 'Domestic Violence'. ... Not a very happy-sounding name. Also, sometimes I have qualms with the 'girl' part. I mean, it's got that whole Tank Girl/Bat Girl kind of thing going on. Sorta super-heroesque, so maybe it's not so bad. Maybe I should just roll with that.

Perhaps I'm just bored. I don't know what I'd change my name to anyhow. Spatters?SamanthaFear? AlexiaMechanique? Belligerent_Kinkajou? 8-bit_Annie?

I guess my problem is that I'm too variable. I can't think of anything that really describes me accurately.

I want something that flows nicely, is energetic, a little chaotic, tomboyish, distinct, has multiple meanings, a little sexy, and a little cryptic.

IsmaOverdrive. IrradiatedPixie, BlitzKitten, I dunno. I'm drawing blanks. Meh.

Sorry, but Electric Keet is taken.

I do like a lot of your suggestions, though. Irradiated Pixie....

Didn't know that parakeets roasting on a bugzapper was considered 'sexy'. :)

Well, that would fall in the category of "a little cryptic" now, wouldn't it?

Smart-ass. *grin*

I dunno. Do they make tiny crypts for generations of deceased parakeets?

DV was from 'Digital Video' but it's somewhat ambiguous

First it was Digital Video Girl, then it was Digital Versatile Girl, then it was just DVG, not standing for anything. Then there was that war over BK-DVG or Blu-Alexia, despite the fact that both offered Belligerent Kinkajou (BK) quality. To add to the confusion, those that knew BK-DVG or Blu-Alexia knew DVG, but not each other. Finally, support for Blu-Alexia won out.

Now don't get me started on Belligerent Kinkajou Mechanique Interface (BKMI) connectors, and the multiple resolutions...

...what?

"8-Bit Annie" sounds like a criminal from a 1980s science fiction novel. So, naturally, I approve.

Agreed!

Though I'm now briefly pondering my own netwise identity...

It sounds like someone from a William Burroughs book, to me.

You cant change your name. No one gets to change their name. If I have to be ff00ff then everyone has to keep their stupid names!

If I can contribute more uselessly, I like names that are acronyms for fairly ambiguous personal identifiers, like YT meaning yours truly, or YHN for Your Humble Narrator.

At work my operator name is DNT and I'm wracking my brains to think of something to make that stand for.

I've pondered a change of names, but the issue of names generally not fitting tend to stop me short. I mean, what would I change it to? rainbowblackclaw? Hmmm.
