Ouch. Yes, windows machines are, in general, pretty bad at anything visual. photoshop, bryce, adobe...if you want to do this, use a mac.
apple/mac compuers are GOOD for this. it's pretty much what their main use is, I think.
By way of example, an imac out performed an athlon running at 1.5 ghz, with a geforce 4 card, and 256mb of ddr ram. and it was running bryce 5, while the imac was running bryce 3. And this was just an _Imac_ with 128 or 64 megs of ram. just think of what a G4 would do. ^^
on the other hand, trying to play various video games on a mac just isn't so good...and os9 has some other problems with it. and osX eats up resources for it's GUI... but all in all, I'd say that both types of systems have their places. and linux has it's place too.
not going to say that any one of them's better than the other overall, but...for specific uses? you can't beat each system on it's own turf, I think.
that's WHY there's mac os, windows, winNT, linux, unix, and os/2. to every thing, it's own use. and I'm ranting, so I'll just be quiet now. *^^*;
Bleech.
