Between going places every weekend and all the sewing and music practice, I haven't really posted a lot of art lately so here's a diversion from my recent stream of political tirades. Lately, I've been keeping a set of colored pencils with me so that I have time to do some physical media coloring when I'm out somewhere. They're terrible pencils. Crayola brand colored pencils and it's a limited set of colors to chose from. Still, in a lot of ways, that's great. By having a limited set of colors, I'm having to make some more interesting color choices and mix multiple colors to get what I want. In a lot of ways, the end result (I think) ends up looking more organic. The lizard man in Saturn Dance, for instance, has these weird little veins and hints of other colors woven through his skin. The same for the tree wizard.

Saturn Dance is better compositionally, but I um, like Wizard Tree Protector because it reminds me of all that seriously whacked-out shit that Erol Otus used to do for AD&D.
