Notice how on news.google.com even though it's been ~12 hours now, there isn't a single mention of the impeachment of George Bush? Kucinich spent nearly 5 hours itemizing 35 crimes that Bush has committed in office and openly called him a liar and war criminal on the floor of congress.

Nary a peep in the news. You have to know about it and search for it. Such 'liberal' media we have.

WTG Kucinich! Even before this, I would totally have voted for you for president. Too bad you're an actual liberal and not a moderate and won't ever have a snowball's chance in Hell. :(

The 'news' frequently reports on things that aren't going to happen. Scandal is their meat and potatoes. Scandal at the top level of the government should be front-page news across every rag in the country.

Also, it's a self-fulfilling prophecy, isn't it? If people don't hear about it, they won't write their congresspeople in support or opposition and if it's obviously not important to the people, a congressperson isn't going to 'rock the boat' so they won't take a position on it one way or the other.

One could opine that the reason the Clinton impeachment got such coverage was that the accusations were laughably trivial and would never lead to a crisis of confidence in the institution of president of the United States. But real crimes... that's the prerogative of the president, of course.

I remember seeing some bills on the docket in the past to do all sorts of crazy batshit things, one was to allow GW to run without term limits...others involved re-instating the draft... but they're all just one lone senator wasting air...


I would wish they would do something and actually push it forward. He tried the same with Cheyney before, it still sits tabled.

I think it's slowly gaining enough prestige that they have to mention it. It's just not a big-ticket attention-grabbing item like whatever's happening on American Idol or whatever. Remember, it's not all just politicized media bias; I'm sure were we in Britain, Germany, or any other first world country, a political fuss like this one would find a lot more prominence in the news.
