Lizard Pics

Julia took some lovely photos of Sulfi for me while I was feeding him mustard flowers. :)

He likes mustard flowers but I haven't given him any since last spring. Got to taste them first. *lick*

Bashfully taking the bouquet. So cute!

The mighty predator stands over his prize!

Isn't he adorable? :)

Oh,he is so cute! I wants a lizard now!

He's a Mali uromastyx. Very friendly and docile sort of critter. He's an herbivore who's favourite foods are dandelions, peas, birdseed, and lentils. Though he also loves Napa cabbage, Bok Choy, collard greens, mustard greens, squash, etc. I eat a lot of veggies so he gets a pretty wide variety. :)

He's a desert critter and likes his house to be between 90F and 130F and he doesn't drink water. (I like the heat too, so this works out well) Really a very very sweet little creature and quite intelligent and interactive for his size (on par with rats)

Thanks for the info! I will really look into getting one when circumstances allow, as I've rather fallen in love with his little dinosaur face!

^_^ Me too. The first time I held him, he licked my nose and I was like, "Ooooh! That's SO unfair!"

He came home with me a few days later.

Oh my goodness, what a charming lizard! *glares disapprovingly at his inglorious amphibian.

Adorable! :)

So he doesn't drink water at all? He gets all his water from his food?

[identity profile] dv-girl.livejournal.com 2008-02-06 09:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah. In fact actually water is kind of dangerous for him because he can get a respiratory infection or scale fungus if he's around dampness too much.

Also, if he gets in water, he swells up like a balloon (helpful for uros when they're having trouble shedding)

He's adorable....

He looks so authoritative with his flower before he chomps it. Can you hold him and such?

Oh yeah. He's a bit moe wiggly than a lot of his species but I turn up the heat and let him run around my studio fairly often. He also likes having his head rubbed and like a cat or dog, when he's out running about, he'll often run back over to me and sit or a few minutes then scurry of again. He also loves looking out the window and sems quite happy to be held for that. :)

So cute! ^_^ I didn't know you had a pet. ^^;
