Ha. If this system of speakers worked as the article states, I'd love to get a set. Imagine the fun you could have with the voice of god whispering in people's ears that they should be getting jiggy in the first pew.

I'll be interested to see what happens the first time one of these systems gets hacked.

Playing static, or loud sudden noises (car horns, gunshots), or even just barely-audible voices for long enough would drive anyone batshit.

It does. They're using them at my local Kroger supermarket to play commercials at shoppers standing in line at the cash registers. So now when I shop there, I lean to one side so the beam will miss my head.
