Animation Update
Sep. 9th, 2003 01:47 pmYAY!
Just got the confirmation that my Maya finally shipped. FedEx even. Should be here in no time. :D
In other animation news: I did another Flash animation for the Artist's Ambush last night. http://circle.twu.net/animate/ambush/sailing.html I'm fairly happy with the result. Not bad for 30 minutes. A ship with gradients and transparencies, a rolling ocean, etc. Probably not so exciting to anyone else but I'm happy with it.
I'm getting really blindly fast with Flash and learning more and more about how to manipulate things in it. I'm also getting the hang of what I can/cannot do in in Illustrator that will export successfully to Flash. I'm now working on a new FCTV commercial in Flash. Already have most of the hard parts done.
Last night I also inked about another 50 frames of 'Free as a Bird'... Only about 500 more to go...
I've also seriously started considering coloring the cels with charcoal and chalk pastels but I'm not sure how I can keep them from smudging. I've never got charcoal to fix where it's totally smudgeproof.
(Tried Aquanet hairspray and Krylon matte fixer) if I can make that work it'd be cool though. I'm gonna shoot a short test using charcoals tonight I think.
Coloring of the bunny animation looks slightly delayed. Stacey got a job and that will be taking up some of her time.
Um... What else? ... I have an animation group meeting with other students from DeAnza tomorrow evening. Looking forward to that.
Guess that's all for now. Back to work!
