I came, I saw, Iran

So three sociopathic religious fascists walk into a Senate...

Except this isn't a joke and it wasn't in Iran. A group of fundamentalcase Christian-screw-heads walked into the US congress and started screaming their jihadist messages.

This really scares me. These ignorant ass stains are getting bolder and braver and more powerful by the day. How long before we become Iran or Germany? How do we stop them from destroying the freedoms that made this country a good place?

Took them seven years to allow this particular guy to speak, too.

However, we have insight into Thomas Jefferson because of it.

Apparently ole' Jefferson was the main man when it came to the creation of keeping Christianity from running rampant and he had a thing for hinduism.

Today I was idling outside the used book store, looking at the rack of cheapo books, and one of the ladies who runs the store came out, to greet this woman crossing the street who had apparently left her cane behind. And after thanking the book store lady, saying 'bless you' a few times, the cane lady says "I'm guessing you must be a Christian!" And the book store lady kind of stammered and said she was raised one, but. (meaning she'd wised up at some point, I suppose) And I don't know if the lady with the cane really appreciates her casual bigotry, with her implication that you have to be Christian or religious to be a good person and do good things. Or perhaps she means being Christian automatically makes you treat others well... it's generally been my experience that the most fervent Christians are the ones who need saving the most, if you know what I mean.

Because other people keep trying to push them in front of buses and the like?

i saw two links from christian sites. one stating that ths was a good thing and why, and one, that in the comments and on the page, went into details why it was a bad thing--it was facinating, actually.

i dont think they should open with prayers from anyone. i'm feeling maternal now. 'if you fundies cant share prayer time nicely NO ONE gets prayer time!'

I felt awful for the Hindu priest. It's too bad that the words that he spoke would be completely lost on asshats like that.
