I think that is the most sinister-looking rabbit I've ever drawn. He was creepy as a doodle in my sketchbook and became much more creepy when colored. I sorta like him.

This is another drawing on top of a sketch done in photoshop. This time I tried starting on a toned surface with some texture. In retrospect, adding texture as a layer on the top is a lot easier. It took some extra work to do the coloring in layers of multiply, overlay, hue, lighten, darken, etc so that I preserved some of the texture of the 'canvas'. On the other hand, I think in a way it gave it a feel much more like a physical painting as the texture is crushed in places where the image is worked more.

Result is interesting but I'm not sure I'll do this technique again.

My photoshop-fu is so weak. This really impressed me, it really does look like traditional media.

The magic to making photoshop look nice is to use layers and to notice the tab at the top of the window when you're on the pen tool that says 'brushes' (the one on the far right, not the one on the far left) Change the scatter, spacing, and shape-dynamics and you get something that looks like real media.

It only took me like 4 years to notice that tab. :/
