Blah. Stuff like this is why I hate big powerful corporations.

Oh wow Bill! You can hire an actor for your personal lame masturbatory thing. Yay you! I bet you have a RealDoll that looks like Janet from Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem too, don't you. DON'T YOU!

Ugh. If you're going to script schlock like this for yourself, at LEAST just use yourself and some cronie that plays the part badly. That has a lot more charm.

I dunno. I doubt much money was spent on the acting portion, but... It was designed to entertain a number of his employees.

The actors are all local, for instance, so just because you know the names...
Doesn't stop it from being lame, though. But they do lots of lame things.

As much as I dislike Microsoft, I gotta pity Bill on this one. All that money, and he's still unable to a sense of style, respect, and a good haircut. Combined with his inability to really admit faults (Even Steve Jobs admits to major failings, like the Cube, missing the boat on CD burners, etc.), well, gah. Really shows how money can't buy everything.

I'm fairly confident it was two nonBills that wrote the script: One doing the self-effacing comedy ("I've got some ideas for Microsoft Bob...") and the second doing that annoying marketingspeak. What makes this sad is that this wasn't a commercial or something for a keynote, but instead was for Microsoft internally: This was an ad meant for their own troops. Most likely it wasn't even Bill who thought it up.

And that bit about Janet is going to be giving me odd mental images allll day.
