Shave and a Haircut
Mar. 13th, 2006 09:34 amSaturday evening, I decided to cut and re-dye my hair. This time I went a solid Wildflower (though still a little streaked with previous colours) I also cut a LOT off my hair. It's now mid back of my neck and the bangs are short. I think I may go and have a professional cut it more and go even shorter since right now I feel like I look like a purple version of Jeanette from the Ghostbusters.
Wildflower is an interesting colour. Everything I read/heard about it said it washes out to a lighter colour pretty quick and that's actually what I wanted with the cut I gave myself, but it seems to be staying really dark in my hair. Even on the first-wash almost 0 dye came out of my hair. Really weird. Every other colour I've had bled like crazy. I guess we'll see what it looks like in a week.
Besides dying, I had a pretty good weekend. I bought some more Heavy Metal to fill in missing issues in the stuff I got. Will soon have all of 78, 81, 82, and 85. I've been slowly reading through HM. Ashy came over Friday night and we just lazed around and read all evening. Very nice way to spend an evening with a friend.
Sunday, Stacey and I got up early and went for a hike in the mountains. It ended up being rainy most of the hike but we were dressed for it. We hiked up past the rain into the interface weather and snow. All in all, we stayed fairly dry until about the last mile of our ~12 mile hike. Not a lot of animals out to be seen (turkey vultures, some ducks, and a fire-bellied newt) but everything was very green and the trees and underbrush were beautiful and it was very quiet although some of the streams were flooding onto the trails and that made bits of the hike a little difficult. I meant to work on some art after the hike but we had pho, took a shower and went to bed. Oh well.
All in all, a very nice weekend, and now it's my first week at work where I get to work on my own project instead of bug fixes. Woohoo! ^_^
