Kids watched it with me, liked it. :) I liked a lot of the details like the finger pointing, the cat coming into focus as the bird 'came to', things like that.
As far as criticisms, I really have only 2. The size of the cat -- seemed when it was rubbing against the legs of the human, the cat seemed smaller. The whole time the cat had a larger feel to it, and in that bit, it was like a kitten. At one point before the bird flew out the window, it seemed to have a longer neck, a more pigeon then finch/canary/budgie housepet bird look to it.
I liked the story, I 'got' the story (which I think is good, what without sound, and at parts kind of faded on my monitor), and loved your special touches. If you want I can watch it again and point out more of those unique things I loved, I didnt have apen next to me and Teddy needs to go to bed.
