Sci Fi Radio

Ooooh. I found an audio stream from Australia with 'Sci Fi Radio'... The last of the shows like X Minus One and Dimension X... Made in 1989/1990. Thanks Aussie Tim!

It's a shame there aren't more sci-fi audio shows. Then again. I've got friends, ideas, microphones and a computer. Maybe I should work instead of whine.

Hmm.

anyone feel like making fools of themselves?

YES!

And Paka and I have talked about doing radio shows ourselves, so I am volunteering him too.

Mwaha...and then you should broadcast your shows through LT3M. X3
I bet Inaki would be all over that, I know I would!

Podcasting. You can fit an hour of voice into 7M or thereabouts if you compress it right, or you can up that to 33M or so for lots of different people and sound effects and whatnot (TWIT hi-quality is typically that size, and around 80min per episode).

Sure. Feel like making a regular thing of it?

Wow, someone else has heard of Dimension X (X... X... X... X...)!

Lately I've been kind of hooked on some of the Doctor Who lines put out by Big Finish. Great productions, scripts wildly variable.

As for making your own, go for it! On a similar impulse, I started working on a radio play of my own (set in the here and now, with some fantastic elements)... Hopefully I can get some theatrical and/or geeky friends to contribute scripts too, and make it a series.

The ZBS Foundation has some pretty good radio plays (some sci-fi).

A friend of mine, [livejournal.com profile] rserocki had written a goofy little 'podcast' sci-fi story. (Here's a link to it) He e-mailed the script to a few people (including me -- I'm Joe), we recorded our lines -- e-mailed the files back to him and he put it all together. It was kinda fun.

He has another script but nobody got around to doing their lines -- I feel kinda bad about that.

Count me in, especially if I can make alien fart noises.
