The Adventures of CatGirl and DogBoy

Dear Jon,

You have undergone a freakish metamorphisis. Your parents believed whole-heartedly in Reagan's statement that ketsup was a vegetable and fed it to you from the day you were born. As it turns out, the medieval church was right to be suspicious of the tomato, a relative of nightshade. The massive overdose of Lycopene has jump-started one of the most feared of all diseases, lycanthropy! half man, half wolf, you now roam the streets of the city in a battle against crime and poor nutritional standards! Sure, being shot through the heart with a silver bullet would probably end your heroism but there's a much closer threat. Mustard! The natural opposite to your ketchup-based powers, mustard temporarily robs you of your canine form, reverting you to human for up to two hours. Though, as far as you know, no one knows this terrible secret.

In other words, you are invited to play a really goofy low-power Champions game. 100-125pt characters. Stacey will be playing a catgirl created by a horny anime fan that she luckily managed to escape. I'll invite Es to play once I've remembered how to GM. This is a very non-serious campaign in the vein of Mystery Men, The Tick, or Darkwing Duck.

"I'm not...stab man!"

I'm not 'Knifey Boy'...

I wonder how I get in on this.

Hee. I didn't know you'd go for anything so geeky. Let me run a game or two with two characters first so I make sure that I remember how to do this and then you're welcome to join.

We will of course need session summaries.

I would be SO THERE... were I not hundreds of miles away. *sigh*

And I bounce and wish the same.

Eek! I had no idea this idea would be so popular.

So when would we be doing this?

My Champions character creation is 'way rusty. Bug you for massive amounts of help? Or should I read this as "I've already written up a character for ya, you do not need to crank through Solzhenitsyn like volumes of rules"?

Oop. Ment to reply to this with the post below.

EEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Well. Stacey is going to be at a game conference in Austin next weekend so that gives you and I some time to work on a character for you and we can play the following week. The character concept was just an example of the type of campaign I want to run. If you like the idea then sure, we can use him, if not, we can come up with something else although I do want to stay with relatively basic character types. Energy projector, brick, etc. No Variable Power Pools or Gadgeteers for the moment. Besides, it's a 'barely-above-normal' campaign and in a lot of ways it'll probably play closer to TfOS or Toon.

Here are three character concepts;

Poser. Every team needs a techie, and he's it. He's seen all the latest Pixar films, but really, they pale in comparison to the stuff people were making back in 1987. In addition to his mastery of various crummy animation programs, Poser was born with powerful telekinetic abilities, which he uses almost entirely with his foci, floating chrome spheres. He thinks this is "cool." Poser also has points invested in his Fortress of Chrome, a crummy one-bedroom apartment decorated with lightening spheres, completely hokey landscapes that he made himself, and first edition D&D paraphenalia.

Wakenbake. Wakenbake fights evil because no, man, that just ain't right. Wakenbake's access to herb means that he is able to eat pretty much anything and is immune to mind-control. While Wakenbake derives some of his powers from giggling at everything, some things can literally paralyze him with laughter.

As yet un-named werewolf. Yer original concept. Basic not especially bright overenthusiastic dogdogdogdogdog. Oh yeah!
