Journal experiment
Oct. 5th, 2005 12:55 pmSo. I'm still on this website redesign thing.
I decided I'd start small and easy. Just redo my livejournal. The colours were all muted and muddy before. They were part of that whole 'I'm hiding' thing. I really wanna get away frm that. So anyhow... This is the 'Haven' style, which has a lot of neat automatic colour selecting (which I didn't use. :) But I chose it because the style was clean and didn't have some of the problems many of the other styles do (always exceeding the width of the page, certain elements breaking outside the CSS box they belong in and stuff like that)
So I did just basic comlimentary colours for a high contrast. I did still stay with somewhat cool colours but at least there's some energy in my page now, and I finally got rid of all that broken animation and glitchy counters. I also like the anchor references in the sidebar for faster access. This style also supports a list of links. Gotta think about that and decide whether or not I want to add it.
Anyhow. Opinions?

Date: 2005-10-06 12:17 am (UTC)I also agree about the font, but fonts on the web tend to be a bit on the unreliable side so I stuck with a default.
I did try swapping the blacks and purples and while it looked sort of nice, it also drew too much attention to the wrong things. Also, since I plan to maintain connectivity between my website and my journal, I am trying to stay mindful of the overall color scheme so that I don't end up with a site that looks all disjointed again.
