Huff Puff!

Yay. I animated something. Okay, it's only a pencil test and only a flour sack but after FOUR MONTHS of not animating anything, it's something for me to be happy about. I don't know what this emote is actually called. It's supposed to be the one where the guy throws his weight around either to screw up his courage or to stomp off and clobber someone. I think mine is a little slow on the uptake and it loses size just a teeny bit towards the end but I feel like I kept the mass fairly consistent and I had fun with the stretch and squash. This is certainly feeling a lot more lively and plastic than the last animation I did.
I felt inspired by a comparision of Stretch and Squash between Oswald (1928) and Petey (1940) in The Illusion of Life. The drawings of Pete are just FUNNY to look at. They're really absurdly distorted! So, without looking at the book, I tried to push my simple flour sack even further than the distortion on Petey. Looking back at the pics now, I can see that I barely matched the deformation at best, I certainly didn't exceed it. BUT I got the same sort of result. Some of the drawings were making me giggle. If a flour sack can make me giggle, it can't be too bad.
Aw heck! Here's the drawings I'm talking about. Don't Tell Disney!
See! Funny!
Meef. Bedtime now though. Well. Reading time. ;) Critique welcome on the animation, of course. Abuse me so I may learn!
