I don't think I have ever seen two women (or men) spoken to for holding hands. But then it is acceptable here not so much that I am in oh-so-friendly NYC, but because of all the immigrants. Russians especially seem to like to hold onto each other, walking hand in hand and arm in arm. Some of my neighbors do that with me! It still boggles the mind, for me, that people do that.
See, even some people very conservative like my parents, would find it rude to say something like that. If my parents found it offensive (not that they would), they would cluck and say something to each other. That was crass.
Of course yelling HOT TITS is kinda out there too! And me, look at me, I was thinking hot tiny, tiny sex! (cybersex with mice?)
