and here I've been on a star trek kick for a bit...

The potential for fusion to be effective is there, but I am not sure if fusion can become effectively harnessed as easilly as we hope. I keep feeling that relying on heat and turbines is a bit archaic. So much energy is wasted as heat... I would love to see Photovoltaic cells enhanced to pull more energy out of light, perhaps better ways to convert heat into raw energy.

I remember something about nano lasers that might possibly power themselves off heat to some degree... I just hate waste. ^^;
