I think I'm gonna cream!

YES!!! YES YES YES!!!!!!!

From the list of channels I have in Live365, they throw suggestions at me when new channels become available. to today I get one for an MP3 stream of classic books as audio.

At least the first one I'm listening to is Sherlock Holmes passed through an expressive text-to-speech program. (Much higher quality than the default ones on my computer)

It's AWSOME! It' SO SO SO AWSOME! The computer is lovingly reading me stories! It's giving me as much expression and personality as it can! ^_^ This is the best day of my life!!!!!

*grins* Thank you! I've been looking for something like that. And thank you for the animated shorts and live action shorts. 7:35 in the morning was just weird enough to get me going.

I have a DVD with the full set of the Sherlock Holmes stories as mp3s, and you only just reminded me of it. Listening to Study in Scarlet right now...

There's a "play" button, right? And once you get the thing going, it tells your browser it has an MP3. Your browser should have something it can put the MP3 into, like Windows Media Player, or Winamp, or XMMS, or Quicktime, or iTunes (depending on whether it plays in a window or can stream to a separate app). If that fails, well, maybe one of them will be happy to play the right link for you without your browser in the middle.

I tried running some slash fiction through the text-to-speech thingie in Microsoft Reader. The end result was hilarious. Imagine Ben Stein reading Penthouse Letters.
