that willy wonka movie was responsible for more fetishists than I can shake a stick at. I know so many inflatophiles who were triggered by that movie. The remake will do it all over again for a new generation. :)

I never heard that before.

Yanno, it does look like his gloves are purple latex. . .

I am scared by the idea of Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka, but I'll see this movie anyways.

I think I see Johnny Depp as too glamorous/pretty, not eccentric enough.

Willy Wonka in the book was sometimes heroic, sometimes fatherly, and oft times neurotic and antisocial. Perhaps they're focusing on the latter.

...The sets look lovely, and the costumes are great. The only line spoken by Depp in the Trailer isn't in sync with the video clip, so perhaps he'll look better in the end...

We can only hope.

...But even if the rest of the movie is better, how can you best Gene Wilder?

According to Depp, he spent many, many hours talking with Gene Wilder about the part before filming. So I rather suspect they're both working from the same set of basic plans...

Hee. Wilder wanted people to never be sure what they were dealing with in Mr. Wonka...

Depp looks pretty awesome to me. ^_^

We'll just have to wait and see!

This could be very interesting. Of course, it could also totally suck. And I've been wrong a few times before, so I'm not going to call it either way.

*sigh* maybe it's just the marketing at work, but it looks like a remake of the 1971 FILM and not a new film of the 1964 book. And from what I hear in the trailer, I don't expect the music to be on par either.

If Burton REALLY had the guts, he would have attempted to film 'Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator'. I remember the Vermicious Knids gave me NIGHTMARES when I was very young...
